Day One

Today you are met at the airport on arrival by our airport representative and escorted to your transfer car.  On arrival you check into the hotel and are met by your tour guide at 6.00pm to talk about the adventure ahead whilst enjoying the view from your riverside hotel.

Day Two

This morning it’s a short transfer to Bangkok’s second airport for our short flight to Chiang Mai, the capital of the north.  On arrival you are met by your guide and you head straight up to one of the most famous temples in the region, Wat Doi Suthep.

This temple stands like a sentinel over the city below, with commanding views over the surrounding countryside.  We then return to Chiang Mai and check into our hotel in time to relax and enjoy lunch.

In the afternoon, we head into the old city and meet your antiquated transport for the next couple of houts, the Trishaw.  These ‘human powered’ tricycles are a relaxing and stress free way of exploring the old town, and we stop to explore temples and markets along the way.

In the evening, your guide will take you to Chiang Mai’s famous nightmarket, full of souvenirs, nik naks and delicious street foods to sample!

Day Three

This morning we set off into the countryside to an elephant reserve where you have the chance to learn more about these majestic animals and the part that they play in Thailand.  You also have the opportunity to hop on board and enjoy a short ride through the jungle.

Its then on to your next adventure, bamboo rafts!  Cruise down the river on these most simple of rafts, with and expert guide at the helm and of course all safety equipment provided!  For the more faint of heart, we then visit the beautiful Orchid Farm where these most dainty of flowers are grown for sale in the local market.

This evening we head to a traditional Kantoke Dinner and Dance performance.  Common in Thailand, your meal is served in small dishes at the same time whilst dancers entertain.

Day Four

Today you have the choice of enjoying a Thai Cooking Class at a nearby organic farm, a half day Fishing trip to a local lake containing some giant catfish, a morning visit to a zipline that allows you to fly through the jungle canopy on secure ropes or to enjoy a 1 hour luxury spa treatment.

Day Five

This morning we leave our hotel and head north towards the small town of Ta Thon.  From here we board long tail boats for an exhilarating ride along the Kok River.  We pass tea plantations, orange groves and farmers working the land.  Children wave on their way home from school whilst birds look out for fish from the trees that line the river banks.

We arrive at a small village and disembark before driving on to one of the newest and already most popular temples, Wat Rong Khun.  Damaged in a recent earthquake we are not permitted to go inside, however the views from the outside are why everyone comes.  Completely white, covered in mirrors and glass this temple literally dazzles all who stare upon her.

We then continue to our hotel, near the border with Myanmar and Laos to relax for the evening.

Day 6

Today we drive to the Myanmar/Thai border crossing at Tachilek, crossing for a couple of hours to explore the market and golden pagoda.  We then take a small boat across the Mekong to explore a market in Laos.

After lunch we head to visit a site that highlights the differences between the various ethnic communities in the region, including the famous Long Neck Karen Tribe.  We also take time to visit the ‘Hall of Opium’ that highlights the history of the region and how it earned the title ‘The Golden Triangle’.

Day 7

This morning we drive to Chiang Rai Airport for our short flight back to Bangkok.  On arrival we are met by our transfer guide and return to the Anantara Hotel on the banks of the Chao Praya River.

In the evening we transfer to a nearby pier to enjoy a dinner cruise along the river for our last night farewell dinner.

Day One

Today you are met at the airport on arrival by our airport representative and escorted to your transfer car.  On arrival you check into the hotel and are met by your tour guide at 6.00pm to talk about the adventure ahead whilst enjoying the view from your riverside hotel.

Day Two

This morning we begin our exploration of the city with a visit to the Grand Palace, the spiritual and royal heart of the country.  Its then a short exhilarating ride in a tuk tuk to Wat Pho, home to a gigantic golden reclining Buddha and also the most important school for Thai Massage.

We then journey across the Chao Praya River for a sumptuous Thai Lunch in a restaurant set in a traditional Thai house.  Its then to our private longtail boats to explore the many klongs (canals) that make up the city.  We pass small temples, banana trees, old men fishing and monitor lizards basking.

In the evening we cross the river by shuttle ferry from our hotel to enjoy dinner and a performance at the world famous Calypso Cabaret, one of the most popular Ladyboy Cabarets in the country.

Day Three

This morning we leave the city and drive to the floating market at Damoen Saduak.  Here you take small rowing boats to explore the labrynth of souvenir shops and curios.  Its then on to Kanchanaburi, home of the famous Bridge on the River Kwai and we take time to walk over the bridge and pay our respects in the Allied War Cemetery dedicated to the many POWs who perished.

We drive on to Hellfire Pass, a massive cutting that the POWs literally dug out with their hands, hundreds perishing in the process.  The museum here sheds light on this tragic part of history and we have time to walk down into the cutting itself to see first hand the achievement that was made.

Long tail boats take us to our floating hotel, where your room sits on a raft on the edge of the River Kwai.  Dinner is taken in the hotel before we take a ride up the river to enjoy a Mon Tribal dance performance at a nearby village.

Day Four

This morning we rejoin our vehicles and drive out to a nearby elephant reserve where you have a chance to learn more about these majestic animals and take a short ride through the nearby jungle.

We then continue on to the stunning Erewan Waterfalls, a cascading falls set in the jungle.  In the afternoon we head to our hotel located on the banks of the River Kwai.

This hotel is a famous spa and resort, the best in the region and an ideal chance for you to relax.  In the evening we have a Thai Dinner at the hotel.

Following breakfast we turn south towards the royal coastal city of Hua Hin.  The King has his summer palace here and spends most of his retirement away from Bangkok enjoying the fresh sea air.

Day 6

Today we drive to the nearby national park ‘Khao Sam Roi Yort’, home to the famous temple in the cave.  It’s a strenuous but short walk up to the cave, but the views are worth it.  We take a boat to explore the coastline and explore along the trails here.

In the afternoon we return to our hotel to relax, before heading into Hua Hin for a dinner and cocktails at a beachfront restaurant.
